Youngsters representing WA at the upcoming Bali International Football Tournament attended a reception at the Indonesian Consulate General of Western Australia on Thursday night.
The Gold Fields Boys U15s team, which consists of metro and regional players from the Hyundai Talent Support Program (TSP), were presented with their shirts for the trip.
Football West would like to thank the evening’s speakers - Indonesian Consul General in Perth Listiana Operananta, Football West Director Annette Tilbrook, and former professional player Robbie Gaspar who is president of the Indonesian Institute, WA’s leading Non-Government Organisation involved in the development and better understanding of Indonesia-Australia relations.
Football West also wants to acknowledge Gold Fields Australia, the long-standing name sponsor of all our State teams, and the co-operation of the players' clubs.
The squad flies to Bali next Friday for the week-long tournament, where they will play five matches against opposition from across Asia.
The trip is both a sporting and cultural engagement and is in line with Football West’s commitment to building stronger ties with Asia through our Asian Engagement Strategy.
