Football West is pleased to announce details of courses, workshops and school visits confirmed for the 2023 Great Southern Regional Festival of Football.

The annual Festival will run from Monday 22 May to Sunday 28 May, with the highlight the NPLWA double-header at Albany’s Retravision Stadium on Saturday 27 May.

The first match is the women’s clash between Hyundai NTC and Perth RedStar, followed by the men’s game involving Perth Glory and Sorrento FC. These games will be preceded by a local fixture involving two teams from the Great Southern Soccer Association.

Monday 22 May

Game Changer Club Development Workshop at Albany Soccer Pavilion (6-7.30pm).

Tuesday 23 May

The first day of school clinics will be held on Tuesday between 9am and 3pm, including a visit to Mt Barker Community College.

There will also be a Coach Education MiniRoos Course at Albany Soccer Pavilion (6-7.30pm) - please register HERE

Wednesday 24 May

The school clinics will continue throughout the day.

We will be running the first part of a Level 4 Referee Course at Albany Soccer Pavilion (6-9pm) - please register HERE.

There will also be a Coach Education Skilled Training Course (6.30-8pm) - please register HERE

Thursday 25 May

Part two of the Level 4 Referee Course will be held at Albany Soccer Pavilion (6-9pm).

Friday 26 May

The four NPL clubs will hold a free open training session at Retravision Stadium. NTC and Glory are on between 5-6pm, while Sorrento and RedStar will be there between 6-7pm.

Saturday 27 May

Representatives from Football West and Perth Glory will visit the Albany Junior Soccer Association on Saturday morning to watch the juniors kick off.

Super Saturday begins with a GSSA senior match at 11.30am, followed by Hyundai NTC-RedStar game at 2pm and Glory v Sorrento at 4pm.

Sunday 28 May

Football West referees will coach and assess local match officials (10.30am-12.30pm).

The Hyundai Raffle Car will be present throughout the week to help promote the Hyundai Community Football Raffle, which allows clubs and associations to retain 100% of all funds raised through ticket sales.
