Four up-and-coming female Football West referees had the opportunity to take part in a training session with the FIFA match officials at Floreat Athena's E&D Litis Stadium this week.
Crea Fraser, Samia Omar, Maria Avramita and Chloe Smith spent Tuesday morning with the nine selected FIFA Match Officials who are officiating at the AFC Olympic Qualifiers in Perth.
The four local officials got a first-hand view of how the FIFA referees train, then were provided the opportunity to have a Q&A with the professionals, hearing about the pathway to becoming an elite referee, coping with big-game pressure, and even how to deal with the big-name players.
