2024 NPLW Night Series: Perth SC, Balcatta into semis

Balcatta Etna and Perth SC are through to the semi-finals of the NPLW Night Series after the second round of group matches.

The Azzurri secured their place on Saturday with a second successive 3-0 win, this time against Murdoch University Melville. Ella Lincoln, Jess Flannery and Hannah Insch got the goals at Dorrien Gardens as Perth went top of Group B.

Fremantle City are second after they drew 1-1 with Subiaco. Laura Waltman netted for Freo while Stella Zampogna got Subi's goal.

City will join Perth in the last four should they avoid defeat when the sides meet at Dorrien in the last group match this Saturday night. Otherwise, Subiaco can grab second place with a win over MUM FC.

Meanwhile, Balcatta made it two wins from two and qualification as they beat Hyundai NTC 4-1 at Grindleford Reserve on Sunday. Lucy Jerram, Liana Cook, Jamie-Lee Gale and Monique Prinsloo registered for Balcatta, with Angelique Clayton bringing NTC level before half-time.

Perth RedStar sit second on four points following their 4-0 win against UWA Nedlands. Caitlin Doeglas (2), Renee Leota and Lauren Continibali scored the goals. RedStar need a point against Balcatta in their final group game to guarantee a semi-final berth.
