The 2022 Belt Up cup finals weekend at E&D Litis Stadium was another big success for the Amateur, Metro and Masters competitions.

First up on Friday was the Belt Up Men's Over 45s Masters Cup which saw Bayswater City enjoy a 4-0 victory over Subiaco. Alun Vernals, Domenico Ando, Nicky Dyer and substitute Carl Medica got the goals.

This was followed by the Belt Up Men's Masters Cup (Over 35s), which was won by Forrestfield United, who recovered from conceding two first-half goals to defeat Joondalup City on penalties.

Stephen Connolly and Francis Westhead had City well placed at half-time, before Steven Rodger and Rory Mouttet brought United level after the break. The game went to penalties where Forrestfield prevailed 5-4.

A great day at E&D Litis Stadium yesterday for the final four games of the Belt Up cup finals weekend.

On Sunday, the Belt Up Men's Metro Cup was won by Perth Saints, who defeated Lynwood United 2-0. Madison Holman put Saints in front before the break, with the victory all but sealed with a late own goal.

Fremantle City were victorious in the Hyundai Women's Metro Cup final, beating Hyundai Women's Amateur champions Hamersley Rovers on penalties following a 1-1 draw.

Rovers skipper Ella Kerman gave her side the lead in the first half, then Leniana Masibaka sent the game to spot-kicks where Fremantle were victorious 4-1.

In the Belt Up Men's Amateur Reserves Cup final, it was Emerald who lifted the trophy following a 2-1 win over North Beach.

Ross Westwood put North Beach ahead on seven minutes, only for Emerald to level in first-half stoppage time through Andrew Dunbar's penalty. Diarmaid Ryng scored Emerald's winner in the 72nd minute.

Finally, Joondanna Blues' fairytale run in the Belt Up Amateur Cup came to an end as the fourth division side lost 5-2 to South Perth United, who last week gained promotion to the Premier Division.

United raced into a 3-0 lead inside half-an-hour, before gutsy Joondanna cut the deficit to 3-2 early in the second half. But United got a fourth almost immediately and they eventually re-established their three-goal advantage.

Jack Dalla Via was the star for South Perth with a hat-trick, while captain Alex Godfrey (pen) and Abraham Cheng got their others. Rory Feely and Jon Cole netted for Blues.

Football West also recognised individual award winners from the Metro and Amateur competitions.
