Football West has appointed its first Wellbeing Officer as part of Healthway’s Kick off the Conversation program.
Data and Research Analyst Andrew Ross will work with clubs to provide support and direction on mental health and wellbeing matters, as well as help drive a positive culture.
Football West and Healthway today launch the Kick Off the Conversation program.
Kick Off the Conversation focuses on raising awareness of improved mental health practices within clubs. This is done by developing tailored resources and taking part in workshops run by local mental health providers.
It also educates the football community about Healthway’s Think Mental Health campaign.
As part of the program, participating clubs will be eligible to win a share of $15,000 in cash prizes.
Football West and our partners Healthway are working together to increase mental health awareness.
We are looking to offer resource support, as well as a mental health education and training courses to clubs and associations.
Leading mental health organisation Richmond Wellbeing recently delivered the first workshop of its Bouncing Back program to 25 MiniRoos coaches from Floreat Athena.
The feedback from both the Athena and Richmond Wellbeing was very positive, with coaches keen to engage and ask questions.
Football West and Healthway have worked together to develop a new mental health campaign aimed at supporting clubs and their members.
The campaign promotes the Think Mental Health message and focuses on five key themes:
