The Football West Referees Department has the following workshops and courses open:
Club Assistant Referee Workshops
Football West clubs are being invited to host Club Assistant Referee Workshops ahead of the 2021 season.
The workshops cover Law 11 (the offside rule), ball in and out of play and how to best assist the referee on match day.
It is suitable for all senior and junior players, club volunteers and even mums and dads who help out running the line on a Sunday morning.
The workshop, which is free to the hosting club, is a power point presentation indoors with a short practical session outdoors and runs for around an hour.
It can be run on an evening after training or at other times which suit the club.

Referee Level 4 Courses
There are currently 28 spots available for Referee Level 4 Courses in March:
8.45am-5pm Sunday 7 March 2021 – Gibbney Reserve, Maylands
8.45am-5pm Saturday 13 March 2021 – Charles Riley Reserve, North Beach
8.45-5pm Saturday 27 March 2021 – Gibbney Reserve, Maylands
Anyone interested should register ASAP as they will fill quickly.

In 2021 Football West has introduced a special offer which is available to first-time candidates who attend the course:
The cost for each candidate is $150 which includes:
- Referee Uniform (shirt, shorts, socks)
- Referee Equipment (flags, whistle, yellow and red card)
- Registration as a Football West Referee for the first year
- Course Registration
That means candidates who complete the course get on the park and become a whistle blower for as little as $150.
