Coaching Sessions – Discovery Phase

Welcome to the Discovery Phase sessions page. Here you will find links to session ideas which can be printed off or viewed on your mobile device.

The Discovery Phase covers the U6-U8 age groups and focuses on fun sessions, where kids learn football by playing football.

Discovery Phase sessions can consist of two, three or four football exercises, followed by a game.

With your sessions, try to vary the activities and keep it simple. If players aren’t engaged or enjoying a particular exercise, change it! And likewise, if the kids are having fun with a particular exercise or game you can keep it going.

Some of these session ideas may be more suited to certain age groups or skill levels, and can be tried with kids who are younger or older than U6-U8 age groups.
