The Sam Kerr Football Centre played host to an Australia Cup classic on Saturday night as Perth Glory came from 4-2 down to beat Melbourne City 5-4.

The result takes Glory to the last 16 for the first time in eight years and makes it back-to-back wins for new head coach David Zdrilic.
Glory were on it from the start and went ahead on three minutes when Abdelelah Faisal fired low past James Nieuwenhuizen and in at the near post.

The home side controlled the opening half and threatened to extend their advantage. However, they were caught by a sucker punch nine minutes before the break. A switch to the left was well taken down by Harry Politidis, who got to the byline and crossed for Max Caputo to head the equaliser.
Socceroos striker Adam Taggart was introduced for the start of the second period and within 77 seconds he had crashed in Glory's second following good work by Taras Gomulka.
City were then stung into action and rocked the home crowd of 2,015 with three goals in 22 minutes.

Harry Politidis punished some poor defending to level, and then Andrew Nabbout saw his deflected effort loop over Glory keeper Oli Sail. And when Zane Schreiber made it 4-2 with a cracker from the corner of the area, Perth were staring at another early exit from the competition.

However, they were given a lifeline when Nathaniel Blair headed in a corner, and two minutes from time the Sam Kerr Football Centre went mad after Adam Bugarija expertly guided another header beyond Nieuwenhuizen to send the tie to extra-time.

The first period passed without further goals, but with the match five minutes from penalties Glory reclaimed the lead. A deep free-kick was picked up by Blair and he squeezed the ball into the net to spark great celebrations.

Hoping to join Glory in the last 16 are NPLWA - Men's leaders Olympic Kingsway, who take on Northern NSW NPL side Edgeworth Eagles at Kingsway Reserve on Tuesday.
