2024 Hyundai Women's League Night Series: Mitchell scores seven for Freo

There was no shortage of goals in Round One of the Hyundai Women’s League Night Series.

And no one contributed more than Jessica Mitchell, who scored seven in Fremantle City’s 12-0 win over Gosnells City at Peelwood Reserve on Friday.

Rachael Oliver got two, and Lauren Giovannangelo, Kylie Smith and Ashlee Byrne one each, as Freo, unsurprisingly, went top of Group B.

The other game in the group saw Hyundai NTC run out 6-1 winners against Mandurah City.

Cate McAuliffe (2), Hannah Reynolds, Isabella Wainwright, Marley Barlow and Sophie Rennie were on target for NTC, while Melanie Paschkewitz struck for City.

Also in Group A, a Tara Meeres treble helped Perth RedStar beat UWA Nedlands 6-1. RedStar's other goals came from Mikayla Ingrey, Jasmine Gray and an own goal, while Niamh Gustavino was on target for Nedlands.

There was also a hat-trick at Dorrien Gardens in Group D, where Macey McCready fired Perth SC to a 3-1 victory over East Perth. Rachel Hein was the East Perth scorer.
