Olympic Kingsway continued their charge towards a second State League Division One title in three seasons as they won 6-1 at Subiaco.

David Tough’s side had six individual scorers in the win which leaves them five points clear at the top, although they have played one game more than closest rivals Western Knights.

Subi hit the front at Rosalie Park through James Fanelli’s own goal, but he would remarkably level a minute later when arriving late at the back post for 1-1.

Ewen Fawcett lobbed over the goalkeeper two minutes into first-half added time and they went further clear three minutes after the restart through Nick Koefler’s close-range header.

Josh Samson helped in a free kick for 4-1, before Tyler Garner arrived untracked to volley in a fifth just past the hour mark. Raeez Pandor came off the bench to slot in a sixth as Kingsway won for an 11th time in 13 outings in 2022, while Subiaco drop a place to 10th.

Western Knights are second and won for a third straight game, 2-1 at home to Joondalup United.

The visitors went ahead on five minutes when Matthew Corrigan volleyed home brilliantly via the post from outside the area. It was a lead they held until the final 20 minutes when Knights struck twice to turn it around.

Ryan Cox got the first with a magnificent strike into the top corner from distance and then Noah Shamaki made it six for the season when he forced over the line late on to win it.

Knights moved up to second after Mandurah City’s 2-0 win at Fremantle City, which saw the Dolphins also leapfrog their opponents into third.

Two second-half goals at Hilton Park gave Mandurah back-to-back wins. Jake Shaked scored an excellent overhead kick for the opener, then Hamish Van Dieken rifled a second high into the net at the near post for 2-0 and his eighth goal of the season, all in his last eight games.

Murdoch University Melville are fifth after jumping up two places following a 2-0 win over Forrestfield United.

Declan Tanna got both in the second period with his first an opportunistic effort from six yards after good work from youngster Taj Bingwa.

Tanna then made it five goals in five games 12 minutes from time when combining nicely with Pat Sara to slot in at the near post and put Taki Nicolaidis’ side in the top half.

Dianella White Eagles joined them in the top six for the first time this term as they won for a fourth time in five outings, 2-0 at Quinns who now occupy the relegation play-off spot.

Stewy Moses’ side struck either side of half-time at Gumblossom Reserve. Former Perth Glory academy player Michael McDougall profited on a short back-pass to slide in and score the first three minutes before half-time.

Kristian Despotovski headed home Kieran Colwell’s cross from six yards on 50 minutes to complete a third straight away win.

Meanwhile, there was an important win for Rockingham City who are three points clear of the relegation play-off position, having won 2-0 over bottom side UWA Nedlands.

Both goals were scored in the opening 45 minutes by former Bayswater forward Shaun Mukwevho and came from two Robbie Galvin corners. The first was a towering header from close range and his second was a display of quick reactions in the area to slam home for a sixth goal of the season.

In Division Two, Carramar Shamrock Rovers continue to set the pace with a 3-0 win at Joondalup City - their 11th victory in 13 matches.

Golden Boot leader Jamie Gibson brought up goal number 13 of his season after two minutes to set Rovers on their way and Seamus Edwards’ first of the year doubled the lead at half-time.

A Josh Pasco own goal sealed the points in the second half as the leaders sit four points clear of Gosnells City, who won 1-0 against Swan.

Marc Anthony’s City now sit seven clear of third-place Kingsley Westside, to seemingly set up a two-way title race with Carramar. They are unbeaten in seven, but had to wait until the 92nd minute for the winner when Conor Kavanagh struck at the Swan Italian Club.

Kingsley Westside are third after coming from two goals down to earn a point at Canning City. Adam O’Neill and Luke Salmon answered in the second half after earlier goals from Liam Goerke and Isaac Houghton.

Curtin dropped to fourth after Morley Windmills won 3-1 at Edinburgh Oval. It brought a five-game unbeaten run to an end with Otto Van Der Poel scoring all three for the visitors.

Ashfield eased their relegation fears with a 5-0 win over bottom side South West Phoenix, while Wanneroo City remain three points above Phoenix despite a 2-0 reverse at Balga where Bleron Mamudi and Ben Wantee netted.
