Regional Festival of Football returns to Mid West

Football West is delighted to be returning to the Mid West for the 2021 Regional Festival of Football.

The Festival will begin on Monday 24 May, with the climax a National Premier Leagues WA double-header at Geraldton’s Wonthella Oval on Saturday, 29 May.

The Men’s Regional Cup game will be between the Perth Glory NPL team and Sorrento, while the Women’s match involves the Football West Hyundai NTC side and Fremantle City.

The night before (Friday 28 May) will see the four teams hold an open training session.

During the week, Football West will run school clinics, coaching and referee courses and workshops, a MiniRoos Coaching Certificate and a Hyundai Club Development Workshop.

This will be Football West’s fifth Regional Festival of Football and the second visit to Geraldton.

Football West CEO James Curtis said: “It is fantastic to bring the Regional Festival of Football back to the Mid West. We were received fantastically well in 2017 when the Festival began and we are sure it will be a similar story this time around. The Mid West has always been a strong football region.

“We would like to thank the City of Greater Geraldton for hosting the event and the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, whose support and funding make the Festival possible.”

Details of times and venues of the clinics and programs will be confirmed nearer the time.
