Phoenix back in State League after Amateur title win

South West Phoenix clinched the Belt Up Amateur Premier Division title and promotion to the Men's State League with a 1-0 win over Kwinana United Soccer Club.

Lydon Hodgkiss scored the goal which sent them up five minutes before half-time. 

Saturday's win at Onside Sports Stadium in the delayed Round Seven moved them four points clear of title rivals Maddington White City.

Maddington, with nothing to play for on Sunday, went down 3-2 to Quinns, for whom striker Ryan McCready scored twice to secure the Golden Boot.

North Perth United got a morale-boosting win heading into this Sunday's Belt Up Amateur Cup final. They beat UWA Nedlands 2-1 with David Houston netting twice.

Queens Park finished with a 3-0 home win over Jaguar, Leeming Strikers and Wembley Downs drew 1-1, while while the two relegated sides met at Beldon Park, Joondalup United beating Hamersley Rovers 3-0.
