Framework 'can help shape football in WA'

Football West’s commitment to a “whole of football” approach will see the creation of a Football Development Framework.

This will be a document to guide discussion and decision-making by Football West and its associations and clubs, based on what is best for the game.

Football West will work with its Game Development Committee, Standing Committees and Zone Representatives with the aim of capturing all elements of the sport.

Football West director and former Socceroos goalkeeper Jason Petkovic said: “The Football West Development Framework is an important next step from which we can shape the future of our sport in WA and ensure we are considering all areas of our game.”

The results from the framework will underpin Football West’s Strategic Plan, giving clear direction and understanding to fulfil best practice football outcomes. It will also allow for informed decisions to be made across the game to support these outcomes, especially when there are competing interests.

As part of the process, Football West will engage former Football Australia Technical Director Rob Sherman and external consultants Brian Miller and Dr Roslyn Carbon all of whom have extensive experience in community and high performance sport.
