Dianella start Night Series with comfortable win

Dianella White Eagles began the Men's State League Night Series with a comfortable victory at Frank Drago Reserve on Saturday. Luke Salmon scored three times as the 2021 Division Two champions defeated Ashfield 4-0. Daniel Mackenzie got the other.

Also in Group F on Saturday, Chris Williams grabbed an early brace for Carramar Shamrock Rovers before UWA Nedlands rallied after the break to earn a 2-2 draw thanks to Matt Hatton's double.

Goran Stajic began his time as Subiaco coach with a thumping 7-0 win over Joondalup City at Wanneroo. The other Group E tie saw Olympic Kingsway defeat Balga 3-0, Ritchie Howles, David Perich and Daniel Harrison the scorers.

Fremantle City and Western Knights were the winners in Group D at Crazy Domains Stadium. Fremantle beat Swan United 2-0, while Knights enjoyed a 3-1 victory against Morley Windmills - Benjamin Campbell, Paul Lloyd and Noah Shamaki the Knights scorers.

In Group C, Curtin University won 3-2 against South West Phoenix at Hay Park, Simone Sichel scoring two of Curtin's goals, while Rockingham City and Mandurah played out a 0-0 draw.

On Friday at Wanneroo, Gavin Knight notched a hat-trick for Joondalup United as they won 4-1 against Kingsley Westside.

Also in Group B, Wanneroo City Soccer Club Inc. and Quinns FC drew 3-3 with Ben Hinshelwood netting a double for Quinns.
