Cockburn, Bayswater join Sorrento and Armadale in Australia Cup last four

Cockburn City and Bayswater City have joined Sorrento and Armadale in the Australia Cup WA Preliminary last four.

Daniel Robinson scored the only goal as Cockburn defeated NPL leaders Stirling Macedonia 1-0 at Dalmatinac Park tonight to set up a semi-final clash with Sorrento, who edged out Murdoch University Melville last night.

Meanwhile, Bayswater had too much firepower for Western Knights, beating the Division One side 6-0 at Frank Drago Reserve. They now face Armadale, who knocked out Inglewood United last night.

The game was as good as over after half-an-hour, as Baysie raced into a 4-0 lead with goals from Jon Stynes (2), Gordon Smith and Konstantinos Sparta. Jordan Abrahams added a fifth early in the second half, before Sparta claimed his second.

The semi-finals will progress to the national stage of the competition, as well as the Men's State Cup final.
