Your chance to back WA Paras

The Goldfields WA Paras State Team has joined forces with Sport Australia to raise funds to enable players to attend the 2019 National CP Football Championships later this year.

The international seven-a-side format provides a pathway for players with neurological-related mobility impairment to potentially represent Australia in the national Pararoos team.

The National CP Football Championships are set to take place in October 2019.

Donations will support players to:

  • put to meaningful use the skill they have worked hard for years to develop

  • show their talent to the national selectors

  • represent Western Australia in the gold and black

Football West Inclusive Development Officer Gordon Duus said: “Diversity is encouraged and celebrated through the Football West community. We make the game accessible and a great experience for all.

“Some of the team have limited capacity to earn an income to be able to afford costs associated with state tours. Donations over $2 are tax deductible and have a positive impact in the life of a footballer with a disability.”

West Australians Chris Barty, Brad Scott and Alessandro La Verghetta represented the Pararoos at the 2018 IFCPF* Asia-Oceania Championship in Iran.

It was there they qualified for the 2019 IFCPF World Championship, which will take place in Spain in July.
