UPDATE: Football West is still taking expressions of interest for the 2021 Hyundai Girls Hyundai Skill Acquisition Phase (SAP).
The introductory session scheduled for Saturday, 6 February has been cancelled. However, the session on 13 and 20 February are still going ahead.
Participants are advised to continue to follow the WA Government’s advice on being Covid-safe.
The Girls SAP is a pathway program to help female players aged 9-12 develop their skills and to provide them with the required technical tools to play the game.
The Skill Acquisition Phase forms part of the Football West Female Player Pathway and complements the players’ club commitments.

The aim of the Hyundai Girls Skill Acquisition Phase is on the development of game-related functional skills.
Training sessions in the Hyundai SAP focuses on developing the four core skills of:
Striking the Ball: This includes all forms of striking the ball such as short/long passing, shooting and crossing
First Touch: Controlling the ball with all allowed body parts
One-v-One: All moves, feints and accelerations to get past and away from an opponent
Running with the Ball: At speed (with a lot of space) or dribbling (in tight areas). This includes techniques for protecting the ball and changing direction
Sessions are held each Saturday morning at Gibbney Reserve in Maylands and Wanneroo City training field, Hepburn Ave, Madeley throughout the school terms.
All players will experience more fun, more touches and more games.
The program will run from February to the end of October, in conjunction with the school terms.
The cost for the Hyundai Girls SAP is $440.00 including GST which includes coaching and a full kit.
