Advanced Courses

The C Licence coaching course is the first on the Advanced Coach Education pathway, which also includes the B Licence, the A Licence and the PRO Diploma.

The courses must be completed in sequence.

All Advanced courses are based on the FFA Vision and Philosophy, which is highlighted in:


•    FFA National Football Curriculum
•    The Football Coaching Process

The C and B Licence courses are conducted annually in WA as well as at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra.

C Licence coaching course (Youth and Senior component)

Pre-Requisites

•    Minimum age 18 years old
•    It is recommended that candidates complete one or more Community Coaching Course as ideal preparation for entering the Advanced Pathway

Mode of Delivery

•    Part 1 (Generic, 3 days) and Part 2 (specific Youth or Senior, 4 days)
•    Practical and Theory sessions run during each of the 7 contact days. Candidates must attend all course modules.
•    The course demands specific pre-course preparation as home study as well as preparation of specific tasks between contact days.

Assessment

•    Maximum three practical coaching assessments
•    Laws of the Game exam
•    Written exam
•    Session Planning Task
•    Pre-season Training Cycle Task

Cost

•    $1230 (including GST), of which Football West is subsidising $200 in 2015, leaving $1030 to be paid by each candidate.

B Licence coaching course

Pre-Requisites

•    Completion of the C Licence course
•    FFA recommends candidates practice coaching for a minimum of two years at a C Licence level in order to gain suitable experience

Mode of Delivery

•    Part 1 (Full time 6 days) and Part 2 (Full time 6 days)
•    Practical and Theory sessions run during each of the 12 contact days. Candidates must attend all course modules.
•    The course demands specific pre-course preparation as home study as well as preparation of specific tasks between contact days.

Assessment

•    Maximum 3 Practical Coaching Assessments
•    Laws of the Game exam
•    Written exam
•    Session Planning Task
•    Pre-season Training Cycle Task

Cost

•    $2420 (including GST), of which Football West will subsidise $500 by reimbursement.
