The Football Dreaming program Provides Indigenous children, either female or male the opportunity to experience and participate in Football activity, regardless of ability, skill level, or previous involvement in the world game.
The aim is to run a National Football Festival scheduled for Alice Springs in November 2012, with boys and girls aged between 12 - 13 playing in a 5 a side competition. Each State is to send a male and female team to represent their member Federation, this team will be the winning male and female team from the State Football Festival. A state Football festival will be held in Perth during September 2012, with Indigenous teams represented from various schools and community groups. Teams to be aged between 12-15 years of age. Leading up to the State Football Festival, Member Federations will conduct Participation Gala Days. These gala days are non-competitive and the age range will be from 12-18 years of age. Student and Parent Attendance Pledge: Regular attendance is a big part of success in schools, which can have a major impact on future education and employment opportunities. FDP will hopefully help drive increased attendance at school and ultimately assist in achieving better educational outcomes.
