Development Officer

Football West are seeking the services of a vibrant and energetic person for the position as Development Officer to the Game Development Team.

The Development Officer will work predominantly in Grass Roots Programs as well as in High Performance Programs throughout the state and will be joining a vibrant and closely knit team.

The successful applicant will need to demonstrate an ability to not only become a team player but also to show initiative and have the ability to work effectively without direct supervision.

The successful applicant should be aware that the position involves after hours and weekend work and accept that some periods of time would be away from Perth, servicing the state.

Applicants must fulfil the following criteria to be considered

  • hold a minimum AFC ‘C' Licence with higher accreditation preferred
  • hold a current Working with Children Check
  • be able to demonstrate an understanding and commitment to Football West Development Philosophy and
  • be able to demonstrate an understanding of the content and value of the FFA National Curriculum.

FFA Community Presenters and Assessors Accreditation would be a distinct advantage.

Coach- South West Academy of Sport

The South West Academy of Sport is seeking a gifted football (soccer) coach to assist with its successful high performance program moving into its second year.

This exciting opportunity will involve working with Football West and the Head Coach building on the existing program and developing some of the region's most promising young football talents.

Candidates must have:

● A minimum AFC ‘C' Licence (or overseas equivalent) but preferred AFC ‘B' Licence (or overseas equivalent);

● Experience in delivering high performance development programs would be an advantage but we are prepared to train a suitable candidate.

● Demonstrated ability to work with the Head Coach within the program under Football West and FFA guidance but also to work as a team member and in conjunction with other sports professionals.

Applications for this part-time position close on 26th February 2010 and interviews will be conducted in early March for a mid March commencement.

Coaches- Community and High Performance Programs

Football West is the peak body for football in WA, and is seeking coaches of the highest caliber to join our team. Football West is looking for coaches for a number of programs that are run throughout the year for the development of players.

Community Programs include Futsal development, Street Fourz and Harvey Fresh Holiday Clinics.

High performance Programs include High Performance Programs (formerly the Football West Academies), Girls and Boys State Teams, State Futsal and the National Training Centre Program.

Football West coaches must have the highest levels of accreditation and have relevant experience and a demonstrated development philosophy. Association for the Blind, WA

The Department of Sport and Recreation has funded the Association for the Blind to implement a Goal Ball Program for people who are blind and vision impaired in WA.

We are seeking a person with a commitment to train as a Goal Ball coach and set-up a coaching Goal Ball program and competition structure with a pathway towards competing in Paralympics for young people with vision loss.  The successful applicant will provide two weekly sessions (training and competition) with a minimum of six people per session and conduct a Schools Goal Ball Competition with at least three schools. The person will be required to support team players with vision loss in national and international games.
