Futsal Development Program
Futsal (football played indoors with a small, heavy ball) is high-speed football, with spectacular match situations and remarkable creativity. Futsal is a game for quick thinking and technical ingenuity. Apart from its appeal as a discipline in its own right, Futsal has a great value as a grassroots activity for developing players skill and ability.
The Football West Futsal Development Program (FDP) is an intensive eight week program which focuses on the technical aspects of the game. The major emphasis of the program is on developing the player's technique, touch and skills by focusing on ball juggling and individual ball work as well as challenging players with many forms of small sided football.
All players between 6 and 15 years of age are encouraged to attend the futsal program to improve their skills!
Each player receives 8 sessions with over 12 hours of football coaching by fully accredited Football West coaches and adhering to the Football West and Football Federation Australia National Football Curriculum.

Testimonials
Futsal player Connor Elliott tells it like it is:
I train five days a week and play for fun the rest, but Tuesday is the best. On Tuesday I get to train with some of my favourite coaches - Sean Darcy, Daniel Cappellaro and Darren Young.
Every Tuesday is our Futsal Indoor Training with Football West. I also get to hang out with my footballing mates Andreas, Illyas, Georgia and Lewis. We all play for the same football club and hate to be outdone by each other.
At coaching sessions we learn to play just like our heroes in the big leagues, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho and, my favourite player, Mikel Arteta of Everton in the EPL. I love their tricks. I watch these players on TV but they are so quick it's hard for me to follow. So when we meet on Tuesdays we are shown the skill by the coaches and helped through the basics.
Sean is the funniest coach; he's always making us laugh and playing jokes on us. Our group are usually taught a few tricks and how to progress the skill to begin with; it always starts simple until we get the basics right, then we move on to practicing the full trick.
The rest of the session is all about using what we have learned. The coaches call it expressing ourselves. It's the best way to show off. Against our group it isn't so easy because we all know each other's tricks inside out, but when I am back with my team and playing other clubs that's when the fun really starts. Nobody knows what to expect and it makes it so hard for them to mark me. I can get past players much easier than I used to.
The coaches always say it's not all about scoring goals but about the enjoyment of the game. But all I can say is there is no better feeling than beating your man with a great trick and banging the ball in the net. It's much more fun doing it for real than it is on Playstation, I know that!
