The Football West Academy Program PDF Print E-mail
Friday, 25 January 2008
The Football West Academy Program has been developed to provide talented young players with the opportunity to achieve their full potential through working regularly with quality coaches and players alike. The program provides identified players with a sequential development program aimed at improving each player’s technical and tactical ability whilst encouraging them to enjoy playing the world game.

Football West have established the Academy to provide players who possess the ability, attitude and aspiration to progress to a higher level with an opportunity to be identified at a young age to enter the Football West Player Development Pathway. The number one aim of the Football West Academy is to develop players who will progress into our State Teams, National Training Centre squads and ultimately Australian National Sides. Though only a select few will reach these heights, all players will benefit greatly from the experience of being a part of the Academy program.

The Academy Program provides a sequential development program aimed at improving players both technically and tactically, preparing players to make the transition to representative level Football. The Academy Coaches are professional, friendly and approachable and are all highly qualified with extensive experience in developing young players. The Academy program includes both Outdoor and Futsal (Indoor) sessions and will focus heavily on allowing players to develop their skills through providing plenty of opportunity to get touches on the ball, play in tight spaces and to try new things without the fear of failure.

The Football West  Academy Program will also focus on providing players with a solid foundation for personal growth through encouraging a positive and professional approach to training and matches. Through the program, players will learn the value of a disciplined approach, punctuality and the need for practice and they will develop socially to communicate and interact with the coaching staff and team mates. This growth will allow them to achieve a higher level of self esteem and will help them not only to become better players, but well rounded and confident young people.
