Sixteen Year 10 students from St Hildas school for girls have received some specialist football coaching from Football West Youth Development Officer Mark Lee over the past 3 months.
The majority of the girls have never been involved in the world game but have improved dramatically in such a short time. From technical to tactical and SAQ to Small Sided Games the students have been enjoying weekly sessions and as you can see from the photograph have certainly been playing with a smile on their face.
PE Teacher Miss Boughton said "The Year 10 St Hilda's 1A & 1B Specialist Physical Education class has thoroughly enjoyed being coached/instructed by Mark Lee from Soccer West. His ability to impart his knowledge of the skills and requirements of the game, along with his clever turn of phrase, has motivated the girls endlessly. The short, sharp active warm ups followed by the specific skill drills were delivered in such a way that the girls learnt so much whilst having heaps of fun and challenging themselves along the way. His energy and passion for the sport of soccer is contagious and motivating." This is the second program that St Hildas have worked with Football West and in total over 200 of their students have received coaching sessions Football West
