On the back of the success of the, Matilda’s, the Qantas Socceroos and the Hyundai A League interest in football is at an all time high, football for girls is the fastest growing sport in the world. Football Federation Australia is committed to giving Girls of any ability the opportunity to experience the fantastic sport of football through participation in TFA and to build on the interest and enthusiasm created within the community for football.

TFA is an introductory football program for Girls aged 5 – 12 years and programs are being delivered nationally by the FFA through local football clubs. This course will be coordinated by Beckenham Angels and will use TFA trained coaches. The program encourages children to experience football in a fun game based environment.

For new players and those in their initial playing years, TFA is an ideal introduction to football as it is ‘game-centred’ and encourages children to play the game anywhere, anytime and with anyone! The focus of TFA is on small-sided games and age appropriate activities with a particular emphasis on enjoyment. Local players from Women’s Teams will help deliver aspects of the course and will distribute the equipment the participants will receive.

The program also encourages parents to become actively involved in the delivery of the sessions and support their children as they experience the fun and excitement of playing football.

Children that are not registered with clubs and want to experience playing football are encouraged to participate and will be able to seek local playing opportunities for the future at the conclusion of the program.

For a cost of just $66, children can participate in the program and receive a kit of equipment that enables them to participate in football beyond the formal conclusion of the program.

The kit includes:
• a Nike Total 90 all surface football
• a Nike Brasilia equipment bag
• markers to use as goals and to mark out a field
