FFA Laws Directive - Skins PDF Print E-mail
Saturday, 21 July 2007
Football Federation Australia has issued a directive of the FIFA Laws of the Game with regards to the wearing of Skins and similar products. Players are NOT permitted to wear full length skins which are visible between the shorts and socks.

Any player who is wearing such products should be asked to remove them by the referee before the game commences. In the situation that a player starts the game wearing these products, the referee should be asking the player to leave the field of play and remove them before being allowed to continue playing in the game. If the player does not comply with the referee’s request, referee’s have been instructed to caution the player and show them the yellow card. This sanction falls under the jurisdiction of Law 4 – The Player’s Equipment.

The wearing of Skins shorts and similar products has not been prohibited, however these must conform to the Laws of the Game which state they must be the same main colour as that of the shorts. Skins socks and similar products again are allowable as they should be covered completely by the socks at all time. There is no restriction on the colour of these items as they are not visible.

If any club or player has a query regarding this directive please contact Mathew Cheeseman on (08) 9422 6900.
