thumb_planetfootballstacked.jpgUsing techniques from small sided games across the world, Planet Football teaches kids to move like Messi and pass like Pele. You don't have to travel the world to learn from the masters: Planet Football is right here - for kids aged 7yrs and 12yrs the eight week Saturday morning clinics start on May 3 in Joondalup and Maylands.

The program is designed to provide players with a fun and enjoyable way in which to develop their skills and improve their game with limited coaching and interruption from the sidelines. Players build upon their skill and ability by gaining valuable experience in real match play situations, whilst ensuring they get the most out of the game by being more involved.

The 4v4 model allows greater involvement in the play, whilst maintaining the essential elements of the game. On average players will achieve:
-     135% more passes;
-     500% more goals scored;
-     225% more 1v1 encounters; and
-     280% more dribbling skills or tricks.

Planet Football has been hugely successful with over 150 children participating in clinics held in Maylands and Joondalup.

“It has been tremendous to see the amount of skill and confidence the children have on the ball when they play in the Planet fFootball environment,” said Mark Lee, Football West Youth Development Officer.

“The program is designed to allow players to make their own decisions and allows them to get as many touches on the ball as possible,” said Lee.

“The positive environment which is created by the Football West coaches results in children playing with freedom and expression and compliments their game whether they are club players or just starting out in the game.”
