Football Federation Australia and its Member Federations subscribes to the philosophy of making the game accessible to all.
As a sport, it is important that there are no barriers to participation in our community. Central to this is ensuring football is an inclusive activity and that football maximises participation for all.
Under the new National Football Development Plan, FFA and our Member Federations will continue to expand the scope of existing initiatives and programs intended to ensure that the game is as accessible as possible to all Australians. In particular people with disabilities, but also those with other special needs, who because of their circumstances, have to overcome significant barriers in order to participate.
Through the Sport CONNECT FFA Disability Action Plan we will ensure that people with disabilities can become involved in football at any level and enjoy a quality experience.
I pledge the support and commitment of the FFA Board to the Sport CONNECT program to ensure that all Australians have the opportunity to be involved in the “World Game”.
The FFA with the assistance of its Member Federations will soon complete its national disability audit and launch its Disability Action Plan. We urge all clubs that cater for people with disabilities and special needs through club and community programs and activities to contact us at
.
The FFA and Member Federations thank the Australian Sports Commission for making the Sports CONNECT program available to the football community.
