FOOTBALL WEST MEN’S STATE TEAM TAKE ON ASIA
Some of the State’s most talented and promising players have been handed the opportunity to represent Western Australia after being selected in the Football West Men’s State Team.

Following extensive deliberations State Team Head Coach Robbie Dunn has selected his squad, which will travel to Java later this month to play against Indonesia’s U/23 National Team. They will also take on Hyundai A-League side Perth Glory in a blockbuster clash which will showcase the cream of WA’s football talent.

Dunn had a difficult task in selecting his 15 man squad from the huge depth of talent playing football within the Football West leagues but has assembled a squad that he feels will be more than competitive against quality opposition.

The squad selected for the Football West State Team is as follows:

John  Mirco Cockburn City
Kenny  Ftynogiannis Balcatta
Tommie  Amphlett ECU Joondalup
Ian  McMurray ECU Joondalup
John  Migas Floreat
Garin  Collins Floreat
Keith  Brown Mandurah
Jeff  Bright Mandurah
Andrew  Brown Mandurah
Paul  Harvey Canning City
Andrija  Jukic Perth
Scott  Bulloch Sorrento
Neil  Young Sorrento
Dean  Evans Stirling
Marc  Anthony Stirling

Following the selections, Dunn and his squad will now begin preparations for the tour to Indonesia later this month including a mouthwatering encounter against Perth Glory on Wednesday, 18 June at E&D Litis Stadium, the home of 2007 State League Champions Floreat Athena.

Garry Chandler, the CEO of Football West said “The re-establishment of the Men’s WA State Team is a great boost for the local game. The upcoming inaugural match against Perth Glory should provide a terrific showcase for the sport, pitching the best players in the State League against their professional counterparts. The match in Indonesia will not only be an incredible experience for the squad against quality international opposition, but will also provide us with a great opportunity to further develop our footballing relationships in the Region. I know I speak on behalf of the entire football family here in WA, in wishing the boys in the black and yellow, the very best of luck”
