Ross saves the day for Perth

Perth SC 2 Inglewood United 1 AET
It was typical cup tie at Dorrien Gardens where Perth SC fought back from 0-1 down to edge out Inglewood United 2-1 after extra time in the 2nd round of the Soccer Pools Cup.
Perth SC opened brightly and David Onoforo and Andreas Oliviera each tested the reflexes of Oliver Taseski who saved well on both occasions. The visitors hit back and from Jason Colli’s cross Kevin Griffiths was inches away from scoring at the back post.
The game became heated and referee Stephen Gregory had to show a couple of yellow cards to stop the game from boiling over. Then Gianfranco Circati went close for Perth, his header from point blank range was brilliantly palmed away by Taseski, and the sides went to the break all square. Perth opened the second half well, but once again they wasted good opportunities and three clear cut chances came and went, Todd Howarth hit the crossbar, while Oliviera and Onoforo also sent shots just past the target. It got worse for the hosts on the 68th minute when Peter Lord was sent off after receiving his second yellow.
The visitors began to take control of the game and made their numerical advantage count when they scored on 71 minutes, youngster James Summut firing home past Gareth Deeg.
It seemed like it wasn’t Perth’s day and it got worse for Graham Normanton’s side when they were reduced to nine men on 80 minutes when Michael Iconovski was sent off.
With defeat stirring them in the face Perth side pressed and deep into injury-time Brendan Ross long-range shot flew past Taseski to send the game into extra time.
The goal lifted the home side and left Inglewood flat, the game then took another twist when the visitors had two players sent of in a five minutes spell. First veteran defender Danny Kovacevic was given his marching orders by Gregory and then goal scorer Summut was sent off.
With the game seemingly heading for a penalty shoot-out, Andrija Jukic fired home on 119 minutes, with a superb volley to send the crowd into raptures and Perth into the next round.
