Soccer Pools Amateur Cup – Round Two Review PDF Print E-mail

The league campaign took a back seat with round two of the Soccer Pools amateur cup the centre of attention last weekend.
Premier League leaders Joondalup United made light work of division two side Fremantle Colo-Colo 8-1, with P.Everall scoring a hat trick. In the all Premier league matches Southern Spirit edged out Shamrock Rovers 1-0 with David Palin on target, while Fremantle United beat Perth Azzurri 5-0.

Division three side Perth Royals pushed Premier league side Maccabi all the way, but with scores locked up at 5-5 after extra time Maccabi won the penalty shoot out 4-3, Meanwhile division one side Subiaco United beat Hamersley Rovers 4-0, another surprise came at the E&D Litis Stadium when Floreat Athena beat Lynwood Colts 5-4. 

In other games involving Premier league teams UWA beat Kelmscott Roos 2-0, Murdoch ran out 3-2 winners against Fremantle Croatia, Spearwood Dalmatinac won 4-3 on the road at Leeming Strikers and Olympic Kingsway beat UWA B 7-3.

Other teams to progress to round three are Stirling Panthers, Maddington Eagles, Suburbs United, Golden Lily and CN Canning Inter.
