It’s as you were at the top of the Football West First Division after Saturday’s hard fought 1-1 draw between the top two sides, Wanneroo City and Bayswater City at Kingsway Reserve.
The home side hit the front on the half hour when Bayswater City defender Damir Kudacevic scored an own goal, but Ahmed Hafez’s goal on 51 minutes earned the visitors a point, the Roos still lead the table by two points.
Canning City remains in third spot, on goal difference, after a 1-0 win against Morley Windmills at Wotton Reserve. A goal from Paul Harvey after 67 minutes was enough for Frank Longstaff’s side although some of the gloss was taken off the victory when Paul Oliver was sent off in the last minute.
Balcatta SC continues to put the pressure on the leaders with a 3-0 victory against Gosnells City at the Walter Padbury Reserve. David Moschilla scored twice in the first half and second half substitute Adriano D’Adamo added a third sixty seconds after coming on to give the visitors all three points.
South West Phoenix leap frogged over Dianella White Eagles in stunning fashion after win 9-2 at the Westrac Stadium in Bunbury. The visitors made a positive start taking the lead on 11 minutes through Alan Crofts, but two goals in sixty seconds from Rory Binnie and Gregory Hayes made it 2-1 before Jon Greenwood leveled thing up on 35 minutes for the Eagles. It was all down hill from there for the visitors, with further goals from Binnie, two, too complete his hat-trick, Steve Suttie, Gary Mayers and two late goals from substitute Lee Stewart made it a comprehensive victory for the Phoenix.
In other games Forrestfield United beat Rockingham city 2-1 at Hartfield Park, with Rhys Lowley and Ashley Otte on target for the home side with McCreey replying for City.
Michael Brazil’s Queens Park won for the first time this season with a 3-2 win against Ashfield at Coker Park. On target for the Park were Michael Jennings, Tom Cullen and Kalid Karpeh with Jones and Charming scoring for the visitors.
