Round One of the Football West first division season opened up with a goal feast at the Wotton Reserve where Wanneroo City were involved in a ten goal thriller against Morley Windmills to give their new coach Gerry McEwan a great start back in the first division.
Goals for the Roos came from a hat-trick from Airney, with R.Yates, B.Yates and Herety also scoring, and on target of the Windmills were Hedges 2, Healy and Nover.
Michael Di Fulvio began his coaching career at Bayswater City with a 3-0 victory at Coker Park against Queens Park, Sutton, Halsey and Campbell on target.
Canning City were held at home 2-2 by Balcatta SC, while South West Phoenix’s long journey to Walter Padbury Reserve was successful the Phoenix coming away with all three point in a 4-1 win Binnie, Mayers, Suttie and Ridson the scorers.
There were five goals at Hartfield Park where Forrestfield United ran out 3-2 winners against Dianella White Eagles, and Rockingham City began life at their new Lark Hill ground with a 1-1 draw against Ashfield. Division One Tables, Results and Fixtures |
