This Saturday the World Football Programme Team will be having another busy two hours of the World Game on Radio Fremantle 107.9FM. From 9:00 to 11:00 am on Saturday morning you will be listening to Ann, our guest in the studio, Eamon and Tony cover the World Game locally, nationally and internationally.
Tony will focus on all Football West’s programmes and the a lot more as well as a wrap of the Glory Girls Cup Primary School Championships held on Thursday 10 April, also sponsored by Smarter Than Smoking and supported by Football West. He will also advise on how the School Girls trials are progressing.
Eamon will spend time analysing the State League Soccer Pools Cup results from last weekend and the first round of the State League season. Ann will take us through the Women’s Smarter Than Smoking Cup results from last weekend and the first round of games for the Women’s Premier League season.
We will be having three special guests on the show: Michael Roki the Floreat Athena coach to talk about the commencement of the Premier State League season with his team as defending champions, Archie Thompson, Melbourne Victory and Socceroo player will give us his insights into the Asian Champions League and his club team Melbourne Victory’s disappointing loss at home to Japanese side Gamba Osaka. We’ll also ask him about that game in China where he had to come off early due to a rough tackle, and finally we’ll have Adelaide United defender Richie Alagich who will talk us through the game against Vietnamese side Binh Duong, where he scored a goal to secure victory for his side away from home.
Ann will look at the A-League and give us an update on what is happening there and Tony will also touch base with what is happening with the Socceroos, Matildas and Oyroos.

Eamon will wrap up the FA Cup semi-finals with Portsmouth reaching their first final in 69 years by and Cardiff for 81 years. He will also go through the EPL and the Scottish Premier League which are reaching their climax. As always we’ll give a wrap on the major European leagues and any Women’s league news from around the world.
