Perth Makes it Five in a Row

8.03.2010

Perth SC has made it five titles in a row, with last night's victory in the Bam Creative Night Series Grand Final over the Western Knights.

With the Knights in the lead with 6 minutes to go, Perth made an amazing comeback, with two fantastic goals just four minutes apart to snatch victory.

Graham Normanton's team has won the title five years running, and the Perth SC coach was proud of his team for hanging on right until the end.

"We really didn't come to the party tonight, but we ground it out to the final whistle and got the late goals" said a relieved Normanton in his post match interview.

Playing in front of a 1500 strong crowd, it was a tight match, with the Western Knights dominating for most of the game.

The Knights were leading at the break, following Stuart Montgomery's strike at 26 minutes, but with six minutes to go Greg Sharland curled in a superb free kick to level the game.

It was a bitter blow for the Knights, but it got worse just four minutes later, when McMurray headed home another Sharland free kick to win the game, much to the delight of the Perth supporters.
