In 2011 The WA State Regional Squads totaled six teams (4 x boys and 2 x girls):

U/13 boys
U/14 boys
U/15 boys
U/16 boys
U/15 girls
U/17 girls

The six squads toured South East Asia in a variety of tournaments for the boy's age groups and organized "friendlies" for the girl's age groups.

The tour encompassed regional players having the opportunity to compete for the prestige of representing WA Regional areas as the "most talented players within their individual age groups".

The tour and management of the WA State Regional Teams was handled by Rod Bentley with assistance from Tim Hodgson of Leisure Events for Football West.

The squads chosen for the 2011 tour of Asia were determined at Football West's April QBE Country Camp, chosen by Football West and Regional coaches in attendance and overseen by Cris Ola and Andrew Bettell consisting of the following:

U/13 Boys - competing in the "Singa Cup U/14sTournament" in Singapore
U/14 Boys - competing in the "Singa Cup U/14sTournament" in Singapore
U/15 Boys - 2 x warm up games in Kuala Lumpur then competing in the Singapore U/15 International Rising Stars Cup Tournament
U/16 Boys - 2 x warm up games in Kuala Lumpur then competing in the U/16 Borneo Cup Tournament held in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia
U/15 Girls - competing in tour games in Malaysia and Singapore
U/17 Girls - competing in tour games in Malaysia and Singapore

The total number of players and coaches on tour was 102 people; this accompanied with the 90 parent/supporters that travelled as well totaling a travelling party of 192 people.

Team Results
The six squads played a combination of tournament and friendly games during their stay in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Borneo. All groups had game free days where organized activities were in place for them to participate in. The caliber of the opponents varied and ranged from visiting overseas teams from the Philippines, Thailand, Korea, Australia and local Malaysian/Singaporean club teams and academies.

Whilst overseas the players and coaches were commended with their behavior both on and off the field and showed excellent leaderships skills. It is a credit to the players in particular that they identified they were not only representing themselves with their conduct but also their parents, Football West and the tour directors.
